Ester Canale

One of the most exciting wines I tasted last week in Piemonte. It was even more exciting because I tasted it completely blind and I had no idea what it was except when I tasted it I knew it was Nebbiolo or maybe Barolo, but I wasn’t trying to guess what it was I was trying to understand it and get to the heart of it. For me that is the best kind of blind tasting. And what a stunning wine it was. It has a wonderful weight and a gossamer-like texture that wraps around delicate aromas and flavours of red and black fruit, raspberry , cherry, violet, rose and wild flower and with all the finesse and grace of a great wine. What was especially thrilling for me was that I had been recommended to taste this wine by @the.wine.hunter but my programme was so intensive I could not fit in a visit. So it was as if ‘the universe’ brought it to me and in the best way possible where you discover it for yourself. I love these moments of serendipity. Made by Davide Rosso @giovannirossowinery from younger vines planted in the very special  #vignarionda vineyard in #serralungadalba #nebbiolo #langhe #langhenebbiolo #piemonte
