Gaja – Alta Langa

Views of Alta Langa and the Alps in the distance from Gaja’s beautiful new winery in #altalanga #altalanghe on course to be finished by August 2023 and ready to receive the first batch of grapes. In 2015 the Gaja family purchased 30 hectares of hazelnut groves and other unplanted land and started planting #sauvignonblanc #chardonnay, a little #nebbiolo and #pinotnoir as well as a little #timorassoand others. This is where they are considering transferring all of their white wine grape growing and white wine production in the future. Their Alta Langa winery is within a short drive (15-20 ) minutes drive of Barbaresco but the altitude can go up to as much as 600 m asl & the temperature drops by approx 4 degrees c , so this is a big bonus with the continued effects of climate change. Forward thinking – always 2-3 steps ahead! Thank you @giovannigaja for showing me around this beautiful location in the early morning light. #gajawine #altalanga #altalanghe
